Praharshinie (Praha) Rupasinghe is a researcher at the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM), Antwerp. She is a microbiologist by training and holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Antwerp. Prior to joining ITM, she worked in different high TB/HIV burden settings as a laboratory expert with Médecins Sans Frontières. She has broad experience in strengthening laboratory capacity in low and middle income countries, supporting tuberculosis clinical trials, and advancing laboratory systems. Her research focuses on the mechanisms and diagnosis of drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. She also serves as a curator of the Belgian Coordinated Collections of Microorganisms (BCCM) Mycobacteria collection.
