WHO ARE WE ?
The objectives of NaCoMi is at the national level to promote and coordinate the importance of Microbiology for Belgium and to advise the government concerning important microbiological issues concerning human, animal plant and environmental aspects. At the international level, NaCoMi represents Belgian microbiologists at the International Union of Microbial Societies (IUMS – https://iums.org/), which represents microbiological sciences at the ISC (International Science Council – https://council.science/, formerly ICSU). The current board is composed of 15 microbiologists acting as effective members (8 Dutch-speaking and 7 French-speaking), as well as 4 associate members. 15 academics are representing 7 Belgian universities.
